Drawing- A visual image created by line. There are two basic kinds of drawing:
Contour Drawing- A detailed outline of the features of a visual model (trees, people, etc.) or subject
Gesture Drawing- Capturing an action by drawing. The action or movement is more important then realistically drawing your subject.

Line- Gives Visual Impression. They express emotion and energy. They can be smooth, jagged, straight, or curving.

Composition- Arrangement of artistic parts so as to form a unified whole

Impasto- Laying on paint thickly so that it stands out from a surface.

Chiaroscuro- An effect of light and shadow created by light falling from a direction onto something.
Rembrandt Van Rijn- Self Portrait
Grisaille (Gris-eye)- Painting in black, white and gray. Usually used for the under painting.
